Sack
AS-6V1
Sack
AS-6V1. Herr Sack was a patriotic German citizen (not an aviation designer,
just a talented amateur) who had experimented a bunch with flying models of
various flying flapjack type aircraft. He lived near Rechlin Air Base during
the WWII years and eventually built this full-size flying flapjack using the
engine, propeller and cowling from a Fiesler FI-156 Storch and the canopy and
landing gear from an ME-109. It never went beyond the prototype stage. It is
remarkable only in it's humble origins and was destroyed by an allied bombing
raid.
